Monday Music-3,700

Listen to Josh Graber's new song! This song was recorded on his cell-phone, which semi-amazes me. I will let Josh drop a brief description of this song, either here or in the comments. Josh?

Get to work on it. See if you can figure it out before Josh drops his comments.

Here are the lyrics for "3700"

All the boys you couldn’t love
All the girls you never knew
All the memories and most of
All their dreams that won’t come true

All the whispers in the night
All the lies and all the truth
All the empty space to fight
And no one left to look up to

All the joy and all the pain
All the brokenness and healing
All gone like a desert rain
Dried up in a loss of feeling

All the friends you’ll never find
All the enemies gone too
It’s hard to have a peace of mind
When there’s so much to misconstrue

All the future’s out of sight
It’s in the past we never knew
Will any of this turn out right?
And some day will the dream come true?

I love the helpless hope that this song so simply evokes. I'm interested to hear about the song's inspiration. The sound is somewhere between Woody Guthrie, Sun Volt, and Paul Simon. If you dig?

I like how "true" ended on a higher note than expected, it implied a hopefulness that gave the song a positive life. I actually like the less than stellar quality, it was like listening to an old recording and made me think of the Great Depression when so many hymns of hope and faith were written. Great Job!
